What is a Jamboree?
A World Scout Jamboree is a gathering of Scouts & Guides from across the world (normally over 150 countries), and takes place every 4 years. The event offers a unique international experience with an exciting programme of global development, peace, cultural understanding, adventure, learning fun and friendship and provides the opportunity to meet Scouts from around the globe, take
part in exciting activities and have an amazing adventure.
The theme for the 24th World Scout Jamboree is Unlock a New World. This theme highlights the new adventures, cultures, and friendships that will be shared by Scouts from around the world during the 12-day event in North America, a continent often referenced as a “New World.”
When and where is the next Jamboree?
The next World Scout Jamboree will be the 24th and will be an adventure beyond anything you can imagine. It is being hosted jointly between Boy Scouts of America, Scouts Canada and the Scout Association of Mexico.
This is the first time a World Scout Jamboree will be hosted by three National Scout Organizations and the three distinct cultures will join together to host Scouts from across the world in a celebration of cultural exchange, mutual understanding, peace and friendship.
The Jamboree will take place from 22nd July to 2nd August 2019 at The Summit Bechtel Family National Scout Reserve in West Virginia, USA.
